The Philippines' First All-Opinion Website

I’ve been wanting to try British cookie brand, Ben’s Cookies, for months now.  They have stores in a couple of Asian cities like Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand (sadly not in Manila).

So when my Singapore-based friend asked me what I wanted from Singapore as she’s visiting Manila soon, I quickly replied Ben’s Cookies.  She was actually shocked not to hear Irvins Salted Egg potato chips which is the favorite pasalubong from Singapore these days.

I visited Ben’s Cookies website to check on the flavors that I wanted my friend to buy. I was amused when I read each description of their cookie. It was as if the cookies were characters from a book or movie. They have 20 cookie flavors, and after reading their personality, I want all of them!

Meet my 7 favorite Ben’s Cookie characters:

Like a princess from a bygone age, this cookie is pure elegance.  A very popular choice, but (whisper quietly) she can be a bit of a diva.

A deep thinker, a philosopher, and a poet. He paints, sculpts, and stares longingly at the stars. He may not be the most macho cookie but the ladies still melt for him.

This zesty cookie is the Instagram queen of the group. Her #nofilter selfies may be the talk of the town but it’s her delicious citrus flavors that really gets the likes.

A sophisticated cookie for sophisticated people. Perfect for late night conversations, bearded academics, and lovers of red wine. For French cinema, Italian opera, and Danish television dramas.

In winter, this cookie can be found wrapped in furs, cross country skiing through the Alps, occasionally yodeling. If you’re ever feeling festive, even mid-summer, then this is the one for you.

Wholesome and energetic, this cookie is the hiker of the group. Raised in the hills, she joined us to prove that cookies taste even better if you put the work in.

This nomadic cookie brings sweet and exotic flavors from the Middle East. She’s a lover of Arabian nights, desert camp fires, and enchanting market bazaars. Has taken some time to adapt to the British concept of ‘drizzle’.

If I were a cookie, I’d want to be dark chocolate! Now, I can’t wait for my care package from Singapore.
