Yes, Nicanor Faeldon, Director-General of the Bureau of Corrections has been relieved of his duties for now following the orders of the President (technically he did, he didn’t release former Calauan Mayor Antonio Sanchez, but that’s another issue). The next day he had a bright smile for the cameras and tells them he’s also relieved, emotionally, mentally, and yes, literally.

One hopes that Congress could repeal the GCTA Law (RA 10592). It was badly drafted and created another form of corruption (freedom for a price, Php 50,000 – 1.5 Million as Sen. Sotto announced).
