Versace has always been one of the hottest brands in fashion especially back in the 90s. If you wanted to make a statement, all you needed to do was wear Versace. Gianni Versace, the brother of Donatella, was the man behind the brand then and he was one the biggest designers at the time. He was a real trendsetter creating collections that continue to inspire and influence today’s trends. I still remember the animal prints, the bright colors and, of course, all the gold. Versace was known for being ultra sexy and ultra luxe and they had some of the best campaigns featuring the supermodels before they were even supermodels.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Gianni’s death and the reason for the tribute collection of Donatella and the catwalk reunion of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni and Helena Christensen in those iconic gold Versace dresses. It was also the first time for Cindy Crawford to share a catwalk with her daughter, Kaia Gerber, who is now considered a supermodel herself.

Gianni’s tragic death shocked the world in the 90s. I remember a friend telling me how she and her mom piled all of their Versace clothes on her bed and just ended up bawling the whole night when they heard it on the news. At the time it sounded so funny to me but when she became a professional model I realized that it wasn’t just a story, she really did feel the loss of this fashion legend.

The good news for her and the legion of fans of the designer is that they too can join in on the tribute with the Versace Tribute Collection Limited Edition T-Shirts. These t-shirts are inspired by Gianni’s most iconic collections including the Medusa head and his Vogue ads.

Here are some of the pieces…

You can view the entire collection on the Versace website.
