BREAKTHROUGHS: TOURISM

“This is our own country right and if you can just develop this particular aspect about economy I think it has the opportunity to create significant jobs – the SMEs, i think about 14 million people are already involved in this particular area.”

CULTURE AND HOSPITALITY

“Filipino people are such warm caring individuals opening their homes, open their arms to many foreigners – I have very good fortune of being involve with people towards customer service, you know and again as we travel the world we say you know what service in asia particularly Philippines is so much better than when we get in Europe , United States or other parts of the world.”

Pres. Ernest Cu: “In this industry I believe needs a lot of updating in terms of digital world, digital is changing how things were done, advertising for instance in the world hotels in the world airlines in the world of tourism sites.”

BEST RESORTS IN THE WORLD

Mr. Ernest Cu: “We have the wonderful resort, you know we had customers but the customers were complaining coz they could not share the beautiful pictures on instagram or facebook, so we work together in partnership and work together to create a business case that would really facilitate the building of facilities that would give them some sort of internet at least 5 to 10 mbps internet, it’s on resort, so it is possible by working with us to make that happen – my guess they would rather get free wifi than free breakfast.”

GLOBE MYBUSINESS

Kinapanayam ni Kasangga JR Langit si Ms. Michelle Tapia, Adviser at Head ng Education and Digital Learning strategy ng Globe Telecom.

Ms. Tapia: Yung globe my business, kami yung in charge sa mga small and medium enterprises yung mga solutions namin, yung mga plans ng globe naka customize ito para sa SMEs, kasi iba yung pangangailangan ng mga SMEs natin hindi tulad ng mga malalaking enterprise or corporation. Kami kasi sa globe my business we believe na yung SMEs it comprises about 90 – 99% right! Siya yung pinaka maraming negosyo ngayon na tumutulong na palakihin yung ekonomiya natin, yung tourism naman parang pag pinalaki mo yung tourism sakop na niya yung SMEs, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, retails so pag pinalaki natin yung tourism lalaki din yung SMEs naten ok so pano ba itong breakthrough makakatulong, what we want is ang dami dami kasing changes ang nagyayare sa industry sa sector we want to make sure na alam lang ng mga negosyante alam ng SMEs kung anong mga changes ang nangyayare na that will affect them as a business we want to inform them and we want them to learn about all the new technology or bago hindi lang technologies, bagong paraan ng destinations marketing.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES

BREAKTHROUGH

For example, andito si trip adviser pano mo gagamitin ang instagram facebook, social media to promote your hotel or your restaurant or your destination so itong conference na ito we’re bringing everyone all the stakeholders in the tourism industry so that will understand the environment affecting us and then we can visualize kung ano yung shared future natin ano ba yung gusto nating future ng tourism in 5 to 10 years.

SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

“If we can help anyway to empower small business we will do that, small business we believe is the back bone of this nation it is the majority of the number of businesses of this country in terms of top are smalls businesses you know and it is up to it companies like task and able you

through our digital assets or digital resources like the cloud, like the social media and like general advertising so whatever it is you got enough people here from globe you can see the whole globe my business are here.”

FOREVER FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES

“So may forever ang Fun if we take care of the environment like the latest plans in tourim breakthroughs and technology are importat but for the to remain relevant they have to be viable in the long term what we need is to invibe a culture of sustainable tourism. Whats the point of developing innovations which will be a value only to this generation or a few generation after the effects must be felt to many years to come.”

Sec. Berna Puyat: Im excited to add globe to my presentation thank you very much globe, tourism is a multi tasks sited Industry the only way to enchance it is through a holistic development of the sector we will bw advocates for an ecosystem of responsible tourist and destinations and we will be champions of sustainable tourism to create a dependable source of income for Filipinos with all the positive changes that we aim to bring port in the next four years.

SUMMATION
