Nanding Josef

Nanding Josef is a Zoology Professor turned actor for Theater, TV, and Film. He attended an acting workshop by Nestor Torre, and eventually became one of the resident actors of the Kalinangan Ensemble of the Philippines Education Theater Association (PETA) where his mentors and directors include the late National Artist Lino Brocka, Nonon Padilla, Gardy Labad, Soxy Topacio, and Joel Lamangan. He also acted for Dulaang UP, UP Repertory Company, Peryante and Bulwagang Gantimpala. He eventually appeared in TV and Films under directors Lino Brocka, Gil Portes, Ishmael Bernal, and Mel Chionglo, among others. He was awarded "Best Supporting Actor" by Empress in 2004, for his role in Maalala Mo Kaya's Lugaw.

In recent years and until today, Tata Nanding appears in various character roles in teleseryes and drama anthologies. He was a Division Chief of CCP's Dramatic Arts, Executive Director of the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) and became Vice-President and Artistic Director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). He is currently the Artistic Director of Tanghalang Pilipino.
